San Diego Workforce Partnership

Sector: Non-Governmental

The San Diego Workforce Partnership (SDWP) funds job training programs that empower job seekers to meet the current and future workforce needs of employers in San Diego County. In addition to supporting a variety of adult and youth employment programs, SDWP’s Research Department serves as the go-to expert for labor market information in the region.

SDWP is committed to funding programs that serve the needs of employers and job seekers within the clean energy sector, which was recently identified as one of San Diego’s five priority sectors. In October 2014, SDWP and the San Diego and Imperial Counties Community Colleges Association (SDICCCA) released five reports that analyzed these priority sectors, which were defined as vital to the regional economy, experiencing rapid growth and projecting skills shortages. The clean energy labor market report focuses on two highly integrated subsectors that have the most employment in San Diego County: renewable energy and energy efficiency. Eleven occupations within this sector were selected for in-depth analysis based on their high level of projected growth, opportunities for employment ,and training potential.

SDWP also serves the community through its Business Services team comprised of professionals who work directly with employers to meet their specific staffing needs at no cost. SDWP operates with a vision of every business in our region having access to a skilled workforce and every job seeker having access to meaningful employment.
