Pristine Environments, a leading provider of specialized facility management solutions throughout North America, announced today that it has acquired Sustainable SoCal Inc. (SSI), a San Diego-based provider of building intelligence, energy management, and construction management services for biotech, genomics, and datacenter industries. Yann Palmore, the founder of SSI, will lead the company’s Building Intelligence and Energy practice as the company’s Chief Sustainability Officer. The SSI team services clients in both California and Washington DC, including J. Craig Venter Institute (JCVI), Cleantech San Diego member company Synthetic Genomics, Human Longevity, and several other leading scientific firms.
Prior to founding and serving as President of SSI, Yann Palmore was the Director of Operations for J. Craig Venter Institute, a leading genomics research institute, where he worked closely with JCVI’s executive management to identify an architect and plan their new facility in La Jolla, CA. Since 2010, Mr. Palmore has overseen the project as Construction Manager and Owner’s Representative for JCVI. The new LEED Platinum laboratory facility is anticipated to be the world’s first Zero Net Energy (ZNE) laboratory.
“We are thrilled to welcome Yann Palmore and his team to the Pristine Environments family,” stated Brian Snow, CEO of Pristine Environments. “His unique experience with building intelligence in complex environments will prove invaluable in shaping our sustainable solutions for our clients.”
