    As President and CEO, Jason manages the overall organization and leads several initiatives critical to the mission of the organization, including Smart Cities San Diego, advocacy efforts, and economic development programs. Jason is also Executive Director of the Cleantech Education Foundation, designed to develop education and workforce development programs aligned with the mission of Cleantech San Diego. Before joining Cleantech San Diego in 2010, Jason was Vice President of Business Development for the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation (EDC). Prior to joining EDC in 2006, Jason lived in Austin, Texas, where he worked in the State Capitol as Legislative Director for Texas State Senator Frank Madla. Jason holds a degree in Corporate Communications from the University of Texas in Austin and is a 2008 graduate of LEAD San Diego. In 2014, Jason was named one of SD METRO’s “40 Under 40.” He is a member of the City of San Diego’s Sustainable Energy Advisory Board, the County of San Diego’s Comprehensive Renewable Energy Plan Technical Advisory Committee, and the SXSW Eco Startup Showcase Advisory Board. Jason is also a board member of Equality California, the nation’s largest statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender civil rights organization.

    As Vice President of Cleantech San Diego, Shannon manages overall corporate communications, strategic marketing, and public relations activity to position the greater San Diego region as a global leader in the cleantech economy and raise the visibility and profile of Cleantech San Diego and its members. In 2014, Shannon led Cleantech San Diego’s rebranding effort to redesign the organization’s logo, website, and annual report. Prior to joining Cleantech San Diego in 2013, Shannon led marketing for weather software startup EarthRisk Technologies. Previously, she spent seven years as Marketing Manger at Scripps Institution of Oceanography and three years in communications and public relations at UC San Diego. Shannon brings to Cleantech San Diego her experience elevating the global brand of clean technology research powerhouses UC San Diego and Scripps Oceanography, both of which are lead members of Cleantech San Diego. Shannon is an alumna of UC San Diego with a BA in Communications.

    Upon graduation from Princeton University with a BSE in chemical engineering, Marty joined a General Electric Management Training Program and over his 20+ year career at GE rose to become one of the top Global Operating Managers in the Engineered Materials Businesses including P&L leadership roles in Canada and Hong Kong. In San Diego, Marty Turock has established a sustainability consulting practice including Cleantech San Diego, SDG&E, the City of San Diego, and a number of high tech and cleantech startup companies as his primary clients. Marty leads strategic field projects for Cleantech San Diego to drive the acceleration of sustainability best practice adoption across the San Diego region. Marty currently manages the San Diego Regional Energy Innovation Network and is lead facilitator for the San Diego Region K-12 Schools Sustainability Strategy Collaborative where he is leading energy efficiency best practice sharing to ensure that the 42 school districts of San Diego County are getting the highest impact and return from their Proposition 39 grant-funded projects. He previously led the highly successful Regional Street Lighting Working Group initiative.

    As a Program Manager for Cleantech San Diego, Alyssa oversees the San Diego Regional Energy Innovation Network, a California Energy Commission grant program that provides innovative clean technology startups in the San Diego region with access to commercialization services and capital. Prior to joining Cleantech San Diego, Alyssa worked as an International Entrepreneur Coordinator for Keiretsu Forum, where she connected US-based entrepreneurs with one of the organization’s angel investor groups located in Bangalore, India. She also served as the Director of International Alliances and Partnerships for USI Accelerator, a company that matches US startups with Indian business partners and customers. Through these positions, Alyssa had the pleasure of working with several early-stage clean technology companies who ignited her passion for the cleantech sector and sustainable development. Alyssa brings her experience in project management, communications, and business development to Cleantech San Diego’s team.
