VIDEO: Energy Reliability Plan from CalISO and CEC
On Jan. 21, CleanTECH San Diego hosted President & Chief Executive Officer of California ISO Stephen Berberich and Chair of the California Energy Commission (CEC) Robert B. Weisenmiller, Ph.D., for a timely discussion about their cross agency vision for Southern California’s energy reliability plan and resource sufficiency path. In the wake of the decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station and its 20% loss of local power generation, Mr. Berberich and Chairman Weisenmiller shared their plan with a 50% state goal of maximizing preferred resources into our grid composition without compromising reliability. The pair presented to the CleanTECH San DIego Board of Director’s, toured the Encina Wastewater Authority, and led a roundtable lunch with key members of San Diego’s energy sector.
