Opportunities in Lithium Valley
Over the next 10 years, lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems will power our cars, our cities, and our countries. Demand for lithium is expected to surge exponentially by 2030 with critical supply deficits forecast as early as 2023.
In this Cleantech San Diego Member Webinar, Laurel Glass Lees of Controlled Thermal Resources will describe the immense renewable geothermal resources of the Salton Sea and how they are using that power and brine to produce sustainable, battery grade lithium products essential to the domestic and global supply chain for electric vehicles.
She will also discuss how this work aligns with local, state, and federal initiatives and explore opportunities for Cleantech San Diego members to support economic development and environmental benefits in the Salton Sea area.
