Competitiveness Conversations Across America: San Diego Edition

The Competitiveness Conversations Across America unite the nation’s senior-most leaders from business, academia, labor, U.S. Department of Energy national laboratories, all levels of government, and many other critical community stakeholders to explore best, and next, practices to advance place-making innovation — that is, the creation and build-out of local and regional innovation ecosystems through strategic investments, research initiatives, policy frameworks, and partnerships that foster vibrant economies.

UC San Diego Chancellor and Joan and Irwin Jacobs Chancellor’s Endowed Chair Pradeep K. Khosla, in partnership with Council on Competitiveness President and CEO Deborah L. Wince-Smith, will host the San Diego edition.

Participants will gather on campus to focus on the city’s and region’s efforts at “Building the Next Economy’s Strategic Innovation Stack” — developing and deploying innovations across transformative computing and AI; advanced energy, from next-gen nuclear to fusion; biotech, biomanufacturing, and biodiversity; sensors; advanced microelectronics; and autonomous systems in defense, security, and space.
