CyberFest 2014: Securing the Internet of Things

October 1, 2014 @ 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

$50

There is no limit to what can be connected to the Internet. According to Pew Research Center’s Internet and American Life Project, researchers predict that roadways, buildings, bridges, dams, paper towel dispensers, trash cans, alarm clocks, and even milk cartons can and will be connected to the Internet.

Some researchers say there will be absolutely no privacy, not even on your surfboard riding the “Big Wave.” On July 15, 2014, it was announced that Swiss drug maker Novartis and Google have agreed to develop a “smart” contact lens that would help diabetics to track their blood glucose levels or restore the eye’s ability to focus. What is next? Dreams are becoming reality.

We will look at how the Internet of Things (IoT) will change lives forever going forward and how security must be built into the very fiber of all Things.
