GRID Alternatives Presents: San Diego Solarthon 2016

Solarthon is an annual marathon solar installation and block party, this year it’s taking place in the city of Escondido. On Saturday October 8 between 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., over 50 volunteers — including individual sponsors, corporate teams, job trainees and the homeowners themselves — will arrive on North Elm Street to install solar electric systems on the roofs of nine low-income families over the course of a single day.

Participants get hands-on experience installing solar for local families, network with other solar enthusiasts and solar installation companies, and have a great time all while making a real difference to a community in need. Whether you’re looking to volunteer, sponsor or simply take a tour of the event, this is an important opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to environmental and community sustainability.
