LGBT Leaders Gather to Celebrate Growing Electric Vehicle Marketplace
On July 24, CalETC, the Greater San Diego Business Association, Equality Professionals Network, and CleanTECH San Diego hosted a special VIP “Drive Your Values” event for San Diego’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) business and community leaders to raise awareness about the numerous health and economic benefits of a growing electric vehicle (EV) marketplace.
At the event, CalETC presented its inaugural Drive Electric Green Megaphone Award to Speaker Toni Atkins for state leadership and to City Council President Todd Gloria for local leadership.
Attendees also had the opportunity to test-drive a wide variety of electric vehicles at the event including the Cadillac ELR, Chevy Volt, GM Spark, Nissan Leaf, Fiat 500E, Toyota RAV 4 and the Plug-in Prius. The event was sponsored by San Diego Gas & Electric, Southern California Edison, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Pacific Gas &Electric and the featured car companies previously listed.
