The San Diego Padres and Sullivan Solar Power Presented the Inaugural Padres Solar Day
San Diegans celebrated energy independence over Labor Day weekend at Petco Park
Saturday, September 2 marked the first annual Padres Solar Day, hosted by the San Diego Padres and Sullivan Solar Power at Petco Park. The event was launched to celebrate the upcoming Sullivan Solar Power project for the Padres, which is scheduled to be the largest solar power installation in Major League Baseball. The Padres are slated to save around $3 million from the solar project.
Padres Solar Day was a one-day event consisting of two educational solar seminars that coincided with the double-header games against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Attendees of each educational solar seminars learned about the latest in technology, battery integration and upcoming policy changes. Seminars were led by nationally certified energy practitioners and allowed attendees to learn the facts about solar before enjoying the baseball game. The Padres won both games against their first-place rivals on Saturday.
Daniel Sullivan, president and owner of Sullivan Solar Power, threw out the first pitch of the day. Game day attendees were offered $1,000 cash-back when they sign up to go solar with Sullivan Solar Power by September 30. For more information, visit www.solar4padres.com.
