The City of San Diego’s debut of its “enLIGHTen San Diego” street light pilot is making headlines. This adaptively controlled streetlight pilot features state of the art wireless metering technology as described in Fierce Smart Grid, Smart Grid News, and Mother Nature News.
While this pilot site is fully operational, the final installation of the power/energy meters and data-loggers will be completed in December. These applications will provide verification on the accuracy of the output of the GE LightGrid wireless utility-grade metering node. Davis California Lighting Technology Center is launching its energy metering verification and illuminance mapping in January 2014.
